5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and Comfortable, September 5, 2011

Excellent shoe, feels so lightweight! It carries the barefoot technology without the strain on the toes like the "frog shoes". I wasn't a Nike fan, but I have to admit these shoes have changed my view. I highly recommend them. If you are not certain try them on at a sporting goods store so you can test them yourself, you will understand what I mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun to wear! And fun to run in!, January 29, 2012
This review is from: Nike Women' s Free Run+ 2 (Apparel)
This shoe lived up to my expectations, 100%. I have been wearing the Nike Air Pegasus shoes for four years. I run a lot, a mixture of outdoor pavement and treadmill, so I typically need new shoes every 4 - 6 months. I am loyal to the Air Pegasus because those are the shoes I ran a full marathon in a couple years back. But, I was getting excited about trying something new, so I looked into the other models Nike makes. The Free Run +2 is true to its name. It feels like you have barely a shell on your foot, yet at the same time, it offers the necessary support and protection that runners have been conditioned to believe they need. I have not been able to run barefoot or in the 'frog feet' technology because it feels to out of my comfort zone, so this is the perfect compromise. Though I wear them mostly in the gym, they work great on pavement as well. They would work as trail running shoes, however, if that is the bulk of your work outs, I would go with a bit more sturdy frame. But if you... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best athletic shoes I've ever owned, March 4, 2012

I walk, don't run, but have always worn running shoes for exercise walking. I had lately been going through a pair of Adidas runners about every 6 months, and they were a very comfy fit. Then I started researching the "barefoot running" movement and decided to give the Nike Free a shot. I bought these shoes and now can't imagine ever using any other type of running/walking shoe. They are so lightweight and flexible, you can fold one up and put it in your pocket! There's not a lot of "support"--but that's the idea...to approximate being barefoot but without the environmental hazards to your feet. I have severe osteoarthritis in one knee and moderate arthritis in the other, so was concerned these might not work for me...but they do! My husband, who's foot is the same size as mine, tried them on and now HE"s also a Nike Free convert. In fact, he had suffered a severe traumatic injury to one foot that resulted in massive scar tissue, great toe amputation, and chronic regional pain... Read more
